WeTown provides a sustainable city for 40000 residents in Canada. Reducing people reliance on automobiles, the project provides 36 buildings with apartments, offices, retails and green spaces within an infinitive loop. The 8 minute journey from home to work will be filled with greenery, activities and excitement. Different active and passive strategies are also used in the buildings and master plan to promote a healthy lifestyle. In the next 15 years, 10 phases of construction will start and each phase will balance work, live and play with minimum impact to the environment.

The City of Pearl harmonizes with its surrounding through the allocation of Community Oriented Facilities to instil a sense of place among tourists and residents. In the coast and across the golf course lies a waterway that is streaming with water taxi, an amazing way of moving around coastal parts, enjoying view of sea and green areas. Tourists and visitors could try luxurious lifestyle of Manila in the City of Pearl.
The design challenge of this project is to balance the visual penetration and keep the sense of security at the same time. How to reserve four old Comphor trees in this site is also the issue. The designer tries to hierarchy the boundaries as the design strategy. The 5 concrete walls overlap each other and placed unparalleled by the big trees. They create transitional spaces for wandering and planting between the public field. For people both inside and outside, the walls become the canvas of shadows and light.
Atlantis Sanya is an ocean-themed resort. Designers met the following major difficulties for the construction: 1.High and strict requirements for product positioning, construction quality& safety and fire management; 2.Large scale of the project, which boasts a total construction area of 500, 000 sqm(the hotel of 250, 000 sqm and water park of 90, 000 sqm were constructed simultaneously). 3.Challenges for constructing the irregular-shaped building facade, the aquarium and delivering of water, etc.
The urban farm was developed based around its functional requirements. The classroom, which was strategically located to avoid the interrupting the facade from ground level, required the only structure. This structure was placed in position to maximize sun shading in the hottest months. Circulation and other functions were then placed around the axis created by this multifunctional class area. The idea was to simply superimpose the traditional stagnant farm grid with the best angle for sun protection and discover how they would interact.
The project uses water as the interface to generate multiple sections, echoing the village mode of Sleeping on Water in Taiping Book Town, and providing complete functions of Working, Living, Touring. The design quotes the concept of Taking Root in the Earth. The Library above the atrium visually leads the architecture group of the Literary Courtyard. Its vertical traffic becomes an extended corridor inside the building, which connects the entrance, exit and vertical flows, and weaves various scattered interior spaces.
