The project is located at the junction of three parks, and there is a walkway to school in front of it, where is the corner space of the downtown area. An art country hidden in the city. The design core is inspired and elaborated from the fairy tale, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Accompanying the urban landscape, the indoor and outdoor scenes well interprets the artistic resentence with design and story.
Continue readingThe Zhonghai Tianyu Garden is located in the newly developed town center in the Hunnan District of Shenyang, China, about one kilometer away from the Shenyang Municipal Center and convenient to local transportation. It has been designed to integrate with the housing nearby, and provide more generous spaces for social, fitness, entertaining and other activities, as well as connect the clubhouse and terrace with the public lawns and water features.

Transformation of Heito 1909 is a rare project of adaptive reuse, instead of being obsessed with iconic buildings, everything in the park is designed inside out as the extension of the ruins. The unique design creatively incorporates the ruins and damaged structures into the urban facilities for citizens to experience. Significantly, the park provides a place for people to engage in quality natural environments within a metropolitan city.

The curved ergonomics stargazing profile not just resembles the dynamics of the scenic shoreline of Sai Kung, but becomes a harmonic overtone of nearby landscape. A tranquil and comfortable spot for the busy Hong Konger to lie down and feel the beauty of the night sky. The light wood color with a touch of timber grain blend the design into Mother Nature. As a counterpart to the vivid city, the design is a window to unveil the natural side of Hong Kong to local and tourist hikers, provoking a rethink of the image of Hong Kong.
Continue readingThe project uses water as the interface to generate multiple sections, echoing the village mode of Sleeping on Water in Taiping Book Town, and providing complete functions of Working, Living, Touring. The design quotes the concept of Taking Root in the Earth. The Library above the atrium visually leads the architecture group of the Literary Courtyard. Its vertical traffic becomes an extended corridor inside the building, which connects the entrance, exit and vertical flows, and weaves various scattered interior spaces.
Continue reading“Yukyu En”, Garden of Eternity, consists of six gardens. Each plays a unique role in the process of saying goodbye to a loved one. The main garden is a modern kare-sansui viewing garden named “Tabidachi no iwa”, Garden for Setting Off on a Journey. The front part represents the present life, while the rare part, which features a single tree among the rocks and gravels, is the afterlife. The white sand that connects two parts represents the mythical river, where the dead move to the afterlife. Another garden, which reflects the changing sky in the pool, reminds the transience of life.
