Qing

The design challenge of this project is to balance the visual penetration and keep the sense of security at the same time. How to reserve four old Comphor trees in this site is also the issue. The designer tries to hierarchy the boundaries as the design strategy. The 5 concrete walls overlap each other and placed unparalleled by the big trees. They create transitional spaces for wandering and planting between the public field. For people both inside and outside, the walls become the canvas of shadows and light.

Atlantis Sanya

Atlantis Sanya is an ocean-themed resort. Designers met the following major difficulties for the construction: 1.High and strict requirements for product positioning, construction quality& safety and fire management; 2.Large scale of the project, which boasts a total construction area of 500, 000 sqm(the hotel of 250, 000 sqm and water park of 90, 000 sqm were constructed simultaneously). 3.Challenges for constructing the irregular-shaped building facade, the aquarium and delivering of water, etc.

Urban Farm

The urban farm was developed based around its functional requirements. The classroom, which was strategically located to avoid the interrupting the facade from ground level, required the only structure. This structure was placed in position to maximize sun shading in the hottest months. Circulation and other functions were then placed around the axis created by this multifunctional class area. The idea was to simply superimpose the traditional stagnant farm grid with the best angle for sun protection and discover how they would interact.

Prison History

The cellular prussian model prison in Berlin Moabit, constructed between 1842 and 1849 In lieu of communal cells and corporal punishment, the reformers devised a system of isolation with individual cells. In the last years of Worldwar 2 political prisoners have been captured and tortured in the prison. After its demolition in 1958 ist was used as a storage space. After the Berlin Wall fell the city contracted glasser and dagenbach to develope a recreational and memorial park. An architectural garden within the prison walls was created by using land art means - a prison story told in a park.

Frigate Wallfisch and Lielais Square

Outdoor design of the 3.6 ha Lielais Square and its focal point - the fountain Frigate Wallfisch reflects Ventspils identity in a contemporary and universal environmental design. It reproduces the image of dunes transforming into the developing Music School and concert hall, elements of which complement each other– the square, the fountain and the expressive construction. Square’s complex adds value to the urban environment attracting people at all seasons and increases recognition of Ventspils.

Wareth Gardens

Wareth gardens are Japanese style gardens, 6.5 hectors which are dramatically organized through combining the different types of garden designs such as natural stream landscape, tea garden, and dry landscape based on the idea that owner enjoy the garden through WAlk, REst, and THink. There are 650 different varieties of trees and various colors of ornamental glasses throughout the garden. This ecologically rich and unique stroll garden as an extraordinary place to view changes of the seasons has various beautiful faces and colors throughout the seasons and has enchanted people for years.
