WeTown

WeTown provides a sustainable city for 40000 residents in Canada. Reducing people reliance on automobiles, the project provides 36 buildings with apartments, offices, retails and green spaces within an infinitive loop. The 8 minute journey from home to work will be filled with greenery, activities and excitement. Different active and passive strategies are also used in the buildings and master plan to promote a healthy lifestyle. In the next 15 years, 10 phases of construction will start and each phase will balance work, live and play with minimum impact to the environment.

888 Boylston Street

Located in the heart of Boston’s historic Back Bay neighborhood, the design of the Prudential Plaza highlights the wind patterns on site through such innovative elements as seemingly wind-swept, carved granite planters and a grove of forty-four color-changing steel light columns, each capped with a sculptural wind vane that moves with the wind. These “light vanes” transform this urban plaza into a living wind map. Designed in conjunction with the new 888 Boylston Street tower, the plaza has become an epicentre for retail, dining, and civic events in downtown Boston.

Battery

Battery Park is a 12 000 sqm urban park situated at a key entranceway to one of Africa’s most visited tourist destinations, the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, South Africa. Developed as the nucleus of a larger urban vision for the district, the site includes a park and piazza that effectively conceal a 1 206-bay parking facility as well as new pedestrian routes to invigorate the precinct with activity. The site is of archaeological importance as it contains the remnants of one of the city’s oldest structures, coastal fortification the Amsterdam Battery.

Atlantis Sanya

Atlantis Sanya is an ocean-themed resort. Designers met the following major difficulties for the construction: 1.High and strict requirements for product positioning, construction quality& safety and fire management; 2.Large scale of the project, which boasts a total construction area of 500, 000 sqm(the hotel of 250, 000 sqm and water park of 90, 000 sqm were constructed simultaneously). 3.Challenges for constructing the irregular-shaped building facade, the aquarium and delivering of water, etc.

Urban Farm

The urban farm was developed based around its functional requirements. The classroom, which was strategically located to avoid the interrupting the facade from ground level, required the only structure. This structure was placed in position to maximize sun shading in the hottest months. Circulation and other functions were then placed around the axis created by this multifunctional class area. The idea was to simply superimpose the traditional stagnant farm grid with the best angle for sun protection and discover how they would interact.
